Birthday Princess Box

Well this is embarrassing, I just get a little pregnant and my entries and projects productivity goes downhill. Goodness I would hate to see all my hard work disappear just because I’m in labor lol. Well rest assured I have been crafting and taking pictures it’s just my morning/evening sickness makes it hard to get on my computer and do what I need to do. Well that and my 2 ½ year old do keep my really busy.

Enough talk on the show and tell.

This was made for one of the ladies at my church.  She a little older but I say you’re never too old to feel like a princess.

The frame of the box was made using a basic exploding box – shallow lid by SnapDragon Snippets LLC on Silhouette Cameo.  The Princess silhouettes are from princess silhouette by Megan Hardy. Pattern papers are scraps that I had in my stash from some designer paper or other. The purple wirily ribbon with the black flowers was bought at Michal’s in the dollar bin. I added a bit a bling from Recollections Bling on a Roll. It measures 30 in/76.2 cm of dark pink flowers and dots. Top off with a silver bow.

The inside I made a cake toper I did by using a 3d leprechaun hat by SnapDragon Snippets LLC. I decorated in puff paint and ribbon and topped with a real candle.  I add framesets for her to add in photos of her family and friends and place it at work or home.

Challenge # 46 On My Scrap Room

Hello All,

Well this week’s challenge was brought to you by “My Scrap Room” you should check them out. The group of ladies is really awesome http://myscraproom.ning.com/

The challenge was Valentine themed and as you know I’m not one for Valentine stuff since it just a sore reminder of bad birthday, bad gifts, and people forgetting.  However since the whole time I was doing this challenge I kept my husband in mine, meaning I did this as if I was making this for him. I think it turn out pretty cool.

Baby Shower – Rocking Horse

Hello All,

The Pastor wife had a baby shower last week and as much as I would have loved to be there my son and I were really sick. As you know sickness and pregnant women don’t mix, actually sickness and people just don’t mix. So we quarantine ourselves in our house for as long as the virus was in us. Even thought it was a week and half it felt like a month we didn’t see the sun.

So to get me out of the funk I made this cute card for her, I would have embellished it more but I couldn’t find my gel pens before I had to hand this to her. I think it turn out pretty good considering I was knee deep in flu/cold.

Anniversary Card Not A Valentine’s Day Card

Hello All,

Well Valentine’s Day is coming around again and I guess some one could consider the card below a Valentine’s Day Card. However since my birthday lands on February 14th I really don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day for a few reasons.

Here is Monica’s Top 5 Reason why I don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day:

  1. It’s my birthday not Valentine’s Day. Card Makers had a slow sales month in February thus the day was born to pick up sales.
  2. Each time I go out on my birthday the price doubled on every restaurant, venue, and Movie Theaters.
  3. Locations are packed, good luck trying to find parking.
  4. I keep getting hearts and valentines candy rather than a Happy Birthday Card. I not one for pink shape hearts.
  5. Gifts prices go up on my Valentine’s Day, which is why I get stuck with hearts and valentine candy. It’s the only thing that’s cheap.

However I do celebrate my husband and I anniversary on February 1st which is why I have created this card below. It is also being put in Cardz Crazy RED, BLACK, & WHITE challenge. So that killed two birds with one stone. http://www.cardztv.blogspot.com/

Being Content and Thankful In All Things

That is super strange; I thought I had a pre-posted entry set up to go off the first week of January. Since I was off with family for the Holiday and it seems that the posting I had in place has just vanished. I had a very lengthy posting on what my resolution was going to be this year and now I have to start from scratch. I guess it’s fitting New Year, new goals, and I guess new posts.

We’ll let me start again, this year my resolution is to be content and thankful in all things. The Lord has been good to me, he has given me a new lease on life, spiritualty and physically. And honesty I can’t say I have been all that good to him and everything he has given me. So this year I am getting off my bottom and being thankful and content.

It’s not easy being thankful when things go horrible wrong or be content when things go from bad to worse. And it’s even harder to thank others when you’re in the mists of hardship. So I have made a few cards to thanks others while we wonder this wilderness. Now hopefully I send them out rather them collecting dust on my craft area. Lol!

Happy Birthday Princesses

Hello All,

My friend Jean needed a birthday card for her 10 year old granddaughter. She told me that she loved purple and princesses things. So as a thank you for allowing me set up my shop at their annual Holiday Boutique this year. I made her this for granddaughter.

If your reading this thanks again Jean!

Snow Globe Christmas Tree

Hello All,

Well we are getting ever closer to Christmas and I keep thinking about snow. Since it really doesn’t snow in California unless you drive to some snowy forsaken mountain that has more rock then snow, it really doesn’t really count.   So to cheer me up I made myself a little snow globe card.

I’m sure some of you would say that snow is overrated and it not as fun when the pipes freeze. However, something about the cold snow brings back warm memories of playing on a giant inflated tire going down a slippery and dangers hillside with my younger sister Veronica.  Trudging up that mound with a heavy tire seemed like hours just to get a few seconds of bliss of untold speed.  Hearing my little sister shriek as we hit the snow-white bank made me want to do it all over again.

Aww when life was simple!

3D Snowflake Card

Hello All,

This is not a new idea of course; we all learn how to make 3D snowflakes in grade school with construction paper and glue.  Nevertheless, just because we learn something as children doesn’t mean we shouldn’t bring out the kids in use.  So I dug out my inner kid and pulled out this lovely idea and added my own grown up touches.

Enjoy!

Thomas Ornament Card

Hello All,

My 2 year old son put up some ornament on our fake tree last week and after seeing him weigh down one side of it, it got me in the mood to create this. The light and green pattern was chosen after looking at my poor sad tree as it screamed “help me I’m going to fall over.” The candy cane strips pattern was chosen after he chomped down on his very first candy cane this year. After running all over the house for an hour on a sugar rush he crashed on his soft green spider blanket that we got at Wal-Mart the year before. Thus the green band that bridges both patterns together.

So sweet pea when you’re older and you read mommies post know this card was made because of you!
